This Week’s Verse - Phil. 4:4

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!”

Philippians 4:4

Paul was sitting in prison while writing these words; yet he did not want others to doubt, fear, or mourn.  He wanted them to rejoice.  He wanted them to rejoice in the Lord for whose cause he was there.  Paul was rejoicing himself and would continue to do so (1:18).  He rejoiced with them and wanted them to rejoice with him (2:17-18).  He “rejoiced in the Lord” (4:10) and exhorted them to do the same (3:1; 4:1).

Life is not always easy, yet there is always reason to rejoice when we put the Lord first in our lives.  So look to Him and keep rejoicing.  “Again I will say, rejoice!”
