“...unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

John 8:24

Jesus had just finished claiming to be the Son of God (John 8:16-28).  He said they would know who He was when they lifted Him up to die (:28).  At His death “the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, ‘Truly this was the Son of God!’” (Matt 27:54).  Anyone who learns about Jesus should reach the same conclusion.  Without doing so they will be lost.  As Peter said about Jesus, “there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12).  Believe in Him and be saved!
